Marrone
Frazione Annunziata, 13 - 12064 La Morra (CN)
Website: www.agricolamarrone.com
Marrone is a historic winery in La Morra that has been telling the story of the Langhe through wines deeply rooted in family values, artisanal care and respect for the land for over a century. Four generations united by the same ambition: to keep improving without compromise, preserving tradition while always looking to the future.
Everything began with Pietro Marrone in 1910, when he introduced techniques that were considered revolutionary for the time: reducing yields to increase quality and gradually transforming the vineyards to adapt them to modern cultivation systems. In the decades that followed, Carlo continued to believe in the future of Barolo, even during the difficult years after the war. Then Gian Piero expanded production and exported Marrone wines onto international markets, complementing the great Piedmontese reds with native white grape varieties such as Arneis, Favorita and Moscato.
Today, Denise, Serena and Valentina lead the fourth generation of the family, alongside Gian Piero and their mother Giovanna, an exceptional cook and the central figure of the Marrone household. The winery’s philosophy is based on meticulous attention to every detail: manual work in the vineyards, strict grape selection, careful vinification and ageing processes designed to preserve elegance, freshness and the identity of the territory. Between Castiglione Falletto, where production and bottling take place, and Annunziata di La Morra, where the wines age in oak, a style that combines technical precision with artisanal sensitivity emerges. La Morra is also home to “Marrone: Cantina con Cucina”, the family’s panoramic restaurant, where Piedmontese cuisine and the estate’s wines come together in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
