Wineries to visit

Paolo Manzone

Paolo Manzone is a family-run winery in the heart of the Barolo production zone in the Langhe, established in the Meriame cru of Serralunga d’Alba in 1999. Paolo and Luisella produce Barolo here, along with the other great traditional Piedmontese wines, with an authentic artisanal style rooted deeply in their family history.

The story of the Paolo Manzone winery is rooted in the family’s farming tradition: since the 1970s, they had been producing typical Piedmontese wines in Sinio. After studying at the Alba School of Oenology and maturing years of experience as a consultant, Paolo fulfilled his dream together with Luisella in 1999, when they began vinifying their wine in the Meriame cru — a small natural amphitheatre between Baudana and Lazzarito, which has been fully owned by Luisella’s family for generations. Today, the winery and Cascina Meriame, their panoramically situated farmhouse nestled among the vineyards, stand right here. With around 15 hectares extending throughout Serralunga, Sinio and Roddino, production remains faithful to a hands-on, meticulous style: selecting and picking the grapes by hand, slow vinification in stainless steel and ageing methods that respect tradition. From the soil to the glass, every step expresses family heritage, artisanal care and the identity of the terroirs that define Paolo Manzone wines.
