Piazzo Comm. Armando

Piazzo is a historic, family-run winery in Alba, in the heart of the Langhe, which has been producing great Piedmontese wines from native grape varieties for over sixty years, according to a sustainable approach driven by tradition.

The Piazzo winery was founded in the 1960s in San Rocco Seno d’Elvio, a hamlet of Alba, realising the dream of Armando Piazzo and Gemma Veglia — two young farmers who chose to stay in the area where they were born, the Langhe of Fenoglio’s La Malora, and believe in its future.
Their decision to invest in Nebbiolo proved visionary. Over the years, they purchased new vineyards and dedicated them to this grape, with the production of their first Barbaresco in 1979, followed by the first Piazzo Barolo in 1985. With the second generation — Marina and Franco — and today with their sons Simone and Marco, the winery continues to evolve, while remaining true to its style: deep roots in tradition and an open, forward-looking vision, creating wines that express authenticity and character.
