Poderi Luigi Einaudi is a historic winery in Dogliani in the heart of the Langhe, which has been interpreting Barolo, Barbaresco and Dogliani DOCG with elegance, depth and respect for the most prestigious crus for over 125 years.

Established in 1897 by Italian President Luigi Einaudi, the estate is now led by his great-grandson Matteo Sardagna Einaudi, who has breathed new life into the project, with a vision that is profound, contemporary and respectful of tradition. The renewal process has included the selection of prestigious crus in Dogliani, Barolo and Barbaresco, the complete renovation of the winery —in 2019 — and the promotion of rare and distinctive grape varieties such as Verduno Pelaverga. Matteo has rediscovered the most authentic sense of belonging among the gently rolling hills of Dogliani,. Here, where he walked as a child alongside his grandfather and mother, a deep bond with the family’s land was born: a bond forged by memory, listening and vision. Today, the heartbeat of the land is reflected in a winemaking style that combines quality, sustainability and authenticity, which continues to evolve without ever losing touch with its roots. The historic family residence next door to the winery has been transformed into a charming Relais overlooking the vineyards, where time flows slowly amidst silence and beauty. The ten rooms, furnished with antique furniture and authentic details, welcome guests into a warm, timeless atmosphere. A panoramic swimming pool, flowering pergola, open fireplace, winter garden and gourmet breakfasts featuring local products complete the experience, offering moments of tranquillity and wonderment in the Langhe hills. The collaboration between Matteo Sardagna Einaudi and Croatian winemaker Zvonimir Jurkovic marked the beginning of a new stylistic phase: a sensitive, artisanal interpretation of the territory, where each wine is born as a reflection on the land, time and respect.

WHAT MAKES THE EXPERIENCE UNIQUE

Visits include a tour of historic areas and barrel rooms, followed by a guided tasting of selected labels accompanied by grissini. Bespoke experiences, thematic vertical tastings and tours dedicated specifically to Nebbiolo are also available, with the possibility, subject to prior reservation, of gourmet food and wine pairings
