Bersano

Bersano is a historic winery in Nizza Monferrato which has been producing wines from the Langhe and Monferrato since 1907, using native grape varieties and with over 230 hectares of vineyards, wine museums, historic farmhouses and spaces dedicated to hospitality.

Established by Arturo Bersano in 1907, the winery is now a point of reference for those seeking the most authentic soul of Piedmontese winemaking. Following the founder’s vision, the Massimelli family has carried on the commitment: first Ugo, then his daughter Federica, who is now joined by her sisters and son, keeping a promise that has lasted for over a century – to preserve and share the convivial and agricultural culture of the Langhe and Monferrato. With more than 230 hectares of estate-owned vineyards and ten historic farmhouses nestled among the hills, Bersano vinifies exclusively native Piedmontese grapes: Barbera, Ruché, Grignolino, Nebbiolo, Moscato, Cortese and Dolcetto. The most representative appellations include Barolo, Barbaresco, Nizza DOCG, Barbera d’Asti and Gavi DOCG, reflecting the multi-faceted nature of the territory. 
Right next door to the winery in Nizza Monferrato is the historic Bersano Museum, which preserves tools, photographs and testimonies of Piedmontese rural life. This precious heritage narrates the roots of Italian wine and is combined with attentive and convivial hospitality, offering visitors an authentic insight into the culture of wine and the people who bring it to life every day.
