In Neviglie, amidst the flourishing Barbaresco vineyards, stands Agriturismo Marcarini - adults only, the result of the painstaking renovation of a 19th-century country house, which has been transformed into a romantic holiday retreat with restaurant.
As far back as the mid-19th century, the estate's owner, Sergeant Doglio, used to host friends and relatives who wanted to enjoy the regenerating benefits of Dolcetto and sulphurous water. Today, Agriturismo Marcarini recreates the exclusive atmosphere of old Piedmontese aristocratic residences with an additional touch: the exquisite welcome of Chiara and Antonello, ready to look after every guest. At breakfast and dinner, Chiara, as personal chef, prepares real treats, from homemade cakes to traditional Piedmontese dishes, made with local produce and guided by a zero-waste, vegan-friendly philosophy. The estate has six spacious rooms, decorated in warm colours, equipped with every comfort and furnished with antiques.
Ideal for romantic breaks and holistic relaxation, the agritourism offers one of the few “gardens of the soul” in Italy: a truly idyllic spot – where four-legged friends are also welcome – to unwind from the day’s activities and recharge your batteries, sipping the family’s own wines and relaxing to the gentle sounds of nature, nestled between a pond and bamboo groves. There is also a Jacuzzi hot tub available.
