In 1619 a community of Cistercian monks founded the monastery which is today Relais San Maurizio, one of "The Leading hotels of the world". The five-star luxury hotel still inspires that same 17th century peace and quiet. Rooms and suites, each with its own character, are equipped with state-of-the-art technologies. On the estate is also Villa San Luigi, an 18th century villa set on top of the hill which houses a couple of luxury and presidential suites. Technology, design and tradition make them ideal for guests who enjoy complete privacy.
The Relais also boasts a centuries-old park where a unique microclimate makes it possible to grow strawberry and olive trees, spruce, larch, beech trees and oak trees. The verdant foliage itself is well worth a trip. In the park is also a secluded garden of officinal herbs and organic vegetables. The uniqueness of Relais San Maurizio also translates into Michelin-star restaurant Guido da Costigliole and bistrot Origini.
