The Enoteca di Canelli – Casa Crippa is a characteristic restaurant offering refined cuisine in a unique location, one of the historical underground cellars that are part of a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Upon entering this late 19th-century building, guests take the stairs to the basement, where one of Canelli’s old cellars opens up into a large room. The space is marked vertically by columns supporting the brick vaulted ceilings, while the perimeter is lined horizontally by a dramatically displayed selection of wines comprising prestigious labels and small local producers. Vibrant chromatic impressions are added by temporary art exhibitions and the colourful glasses on the tables.
Family values bring just the right warmth to the elegance of the restaurant, with Anita and Dario, both sommeliers, joined by their mother Fiorella in the dining room, while their brother Diego and their father Riccardo run the kitchen. At the Enoteca di Canelli – Casa Crippa, Piedmontese and contemporary cuisine play skilfully with the flavours of tradition, creating harmonies, contrasts and unique textures, while maintaining the utmost simplicity.
