Where to eat

La Piola

La Piola, with its large, glazed patio overlooking the central Piazza Duomo in Alba, in the Langhe, is a typical osteria that serves classic local dishes prepared to perfection.

Situated in a privileged position, next to Alba Cathedral, La Piola features a youthful, convivial and refined atmosphere: bistro-style tables and chairs, a large patio, colourful serving platters, wall decorations and lights created by famous American artists; in the centre, a large blackboard displays the menu, updated according to the availability of local ingredients. Steak tartare, vitello tonnato, agnolotti and tajarin, Fassona beef tagliata, bunet and hazelnut cake: genuine and traditional dishes, to be paired with wines from selected small producers

Suppliers, passion and dedication are the same as those of the Piazza Duomo restaurant on the upper floor, and holder of three Michelin stars, Chef Enrico Crippa, is in charge. Both venues are owned by the Ceretto family, well-known and far-sighted wine producers, who have succeeded in enhancing the area with original works of art, and welcome guests for tastings at their winery, just a few kilometres away.

As suggested by its name, in Piedmontese dialect, La Piola embodies the essence of local cuisine, selected wines and the perfect ambience to spend time with friends and appreciate the roots of the Langhe traditions.
