Where to eat

Guido Da Costigliole

Relais San Maurizio houses The Michelin Star restaurant Guido da Costigliole, where guests can enjoy an outstanding traditional cuisine.

In 1961, Guido Alciati and his wife Lidia opened a gourmet restaurant in Costigliole d’Asti. They were pioneers in the world of restaurants. They painstakingly sourced the very best of local row materials. Since 2002, the Michelin Star restaurant has been at Relais San Maurizio in the ancient cellars of the monastery, where the stone and the brick vaults showcase art pieces that contribute to a unique atmosphere. Under the direction of chef Ugo Alciati, the executive chef Fabio Sgrò with maitres d’ Monica Magnini and Andrea Alciati take care of every detail with passion and professionalità.

Every dish is a true work of art, a unique combination of flavours and aromas. In the footsteps of his father, Andrea takes care of a huge wine collection of over 2,800 great bottles guarded in the monastery crypt.

Dining in summer on the terrace “Monterosa” watching the sun set on the Langhe hills is a unique experience.
