The Michelin-starred restaurant at La Locanda del Pilone, offering refined Piedmontese and Mediterranean cuisine, is located in a panoramic position on the first hill of Alba.
After completing an enriching period of itinerant training, young chef Federico Gallo returned to his homeland, Piedmont, where his Michelin star now shines in the warm, inviting atmosphere of the charming Locanda del Pilone. The old farmhouse, carefully restored to preserve its original character, is surrounded by a breathtaking panorama of endless vineyards and the gently rolling hills of the Langhe. Guests are welcomed into an elegant dining room, featuring period furniture and brick vaults. The menus vary based on the availability of the finest ingredients, celebrating traditional flavours with a nod to Mediterranean cuisine.
The wine list boasts over 1400 labels and, since 2014, the restaurant has been a Krug Ambassador—a testament to the philosophy of offering food and wine at the highest levels. Bistrot La Terrazza, open in spring and summer, offers a menu of light, inviting dishes that can be enjoyed while taking in the stunning view.
