The historic Villa Reale on the Fontanafredda Estate is home to Guido Ristorante, one of the territory's most prestigious “stars”. Ugo Alciati is in charge of the kitchen, while his brother Piero runs the dining room. They are the sons of Guido and Lidia Alciati who made their mark on the history of Italian cuisine back in the 1960s, offeringhigh-quality dishes linked to seasonality and the territory at their restaurant in Costigliole d'Asti, an innovative idea for those times.
In the rooms inside the Villa, magnificent, frescoed ceilings, terracotta tiles and wooden floors are perfectly matched with contemporary design elements. Outside, in the beautifully atmospheric park, between the lake with the swans and the Wood of Thoughts, is the Garden del Lago, an elegant Art Nouveau structure capable of accommodating up to 240 people, which is perfect for holding receptions, conventions and events in grand style.
Ugo and Piero, together with Erica and their highly trained staff, offer guests a unique and unforgettable experience. It is impossible not to be moved by "Lidia’s agnolotti al plin" served on a napkin, not to mention their delicious “fiordilatte” ice cream, which is whipped up just before it is served.
